Create The Sound of Bonded Experience At-home

To get started we suggest you find a quiet, calming place in your home. Pour a glass of 30ml glass of Jack Daniel’s Bonded and we’re ready to go. You won’t be drinking it all at once! Savour the glass taking 1-2 sips each time.

There are three steps you need to take before commencing your tasting:

1.    Make sure you’re hydrated and drink plenty of water to refresh your palate.
2.    Smell the drink each time, with a deep breath and your mouth open, taking in each of those notes you’re focusing on when listening to the track.
3.    Before you start listening to each track, take a sip and really ‘chew’ on the whisky - washing it across your palate to prime your tastebuds.

Flavour Note 1: Caramel Flavour Note 2: Oak Flavour Note 3: Spice

The rich caramel brings a note of sweetness

  • Notice the piano timbre, especially the tinkling high-pitched notes, which are associated with sweetness
  • Studies have found that caramel comes across as a melodic approach with a slow tempo and consonant melody

The bold flavour of oak gives Bonded a woody flavour and depth

  • We associate woody flavours such as oak with a rougher, more textured sound which is why we chose the cello
  • The long string notes and a slow tempo are proven to draw out the woody flavours

The playful flavour of spice sits across the base flavours to add a bite

  • This piece sounds different to the other two, as science has shown that spice plays very differently when it comes to sound
  • Listen to how the high-pitched, quick tempo creates sharp sounds to  evoke a sense of spice and flavour complexity
