2024 WINNER SCUFFLETOWN SMOKERS

Scuffletown Smokers from Boonville, Ind., were named Grand Champion at this weekend’s 35 th Annual Jack Daniel’s World Championship Invitational Barbecue in Lynchburg, Tenn, earning $25,000 and the chance to defend its title at next year’s competition.
“Barbecue is a fierce, competitive sport that requires drive, motivation, and a lot of hard work,”
said Alby Ransom, pitmaster, Scuffletown Smokers. “We’ve won other big contests over the
years, but the one thing missing was The Jack. Being named Grand Champion among some of
the best pitmasters in the world is truly a dream.”

This year's Grand Champion is Heavy Smoke BBQ. Heavy Smoke BBQ Pitmaster Chris Schafer Schafer has been competing since 2011. He partnered in 2017 with Pitmaster Chad Brewer to create Heavy Smoke BBQ. Shout out to the Missouri duo for bringing the heat.

Turns out, 7 isn’t just Jack’s lucky number. After six previous appearances at The Jack, Butcher Barbecue of Chandler, OK claimed the title of Grand Champion at the 30th Annual competition. Congrats!
